BOOK lovers across the Hunter can make the trek to Maitland today for the city library's annual book sale.

Thousands of books are on display at Maitland Town Hall and according to organisers there are books that will appeal to people of all ages and from all walks of life.

Organised jointly by Maitland City Library and the Maitland Friends of Our Library (FOOLS) group, the sale is tipped to be the biggest yet and expected to raise hundreds of dollars for Maitland Library and its sub-branches.

The sale comprises old stock but organisers said all books are in good condition. Prices start at 50 cents.
