Fiction Books

Fiction books are types of books having content based primarily on imagination. The contents of fiction books are not real-- they can sound "out of this world" or realistic.

Fiction books come in different types based on content, topic and style. Some fiction books are tales of realistic things, people, places and events, though these things are not "actually happening" or have not actually happened. Examples of these fiction books are fiction novels about imaginary characters and events that can actually take place in real life.

Other fiction books contain unrealistic details. Examples of these are science fiction books, thrillers, horror books, fantasy literature and other similarly themed books. These books contain content, characters, places and even creatures that are not generally agreed to exist in real life. Among the most common topics in unrealistic fiction books are aliens, angels, super heroes, monsters, magic, witches, fairies, mermaids and others. Various creatures such as talking beasts, vampires, werewolves, aliens, zombies and other fictitious creatures are also among the most common fiction book characters. Books on time travels and extrasensory perception or ESP are also often classified under this category.

Fiction books are a favorite among book lovers and casual book readers. Created beyond the realms of reality and the actual goings-on in the world, fiction books are often a manifestation of the authors' imagination and creativity, allowing them to conceptualise things and events that have not really happened. Though contents in fiction books are not real, however, fiction books are still usually based on real life. Authors only often make twists, change characters and settings and avoid reference to real life, though the world and real life are usually the starting point in writing fiction books.

Fiction books have been in existence long before printed books have. They can be found in libraries and bookstores, though the Internet can also be used to look for available printed books and electronic books (e-books) that one can download.

Fiction books are popular among readers because they tickle one's imagination and sustain reader interest. The unusualness of fictions books' contents make people interested in what the book has and what the author has in mind. Because of this appeal among the reading public, fiction books usually populate best seller charts all over the world. Among the most popular and sought-after best seller fiction book authors are Stephen King, J. R. R. Tolkien, J. K. Rowling, C. S. Lewis, Dan Brown, Neil Gaiman and Anne Rice.
